John Scanlon

John Scanlon PhD


Dr John Scanlon is a vertebrate zoologist with extensive research experience in the systematics and ecology of extant and fossil reptiles, particularly in explaining the origin and diversity of Australian snakes. He has also collaborated on the fossil history, ecology and bio-geography of mammals, birds and other reptiles.

He is a Research Associate of the Australian Museum (Sydney) and Queensland Museum (Brisbane) and has been working as an environmental consultant in WA since 2011, principally on terrestrial vertebrate fauna and short-range endemic invertebrate surveys.
