Michael Lohr

Michaels interest in

wildlife grew out of a childhood spent birding, hunting, and foraging in the

woods of Pennsylvania. He even got my driver’s license at 17 specifically so he could

spend more time volunteering on state reptile and amphibian surveys. Since

then, his higher education and employment has focused on wildlife conservation

and research. Over time, his interest has moved away from the study of

individual species and toward entire ecological communities and processes and

the factors that drive them. This broader view is integral in developing

innovative solutions to emerging challenges in wildlife management.
