I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and spent my childhood wondering though the fynbos catching small reptiles and trying to sneak up on rock hyraxes and mongooses.

After moving to Australia as a teenager I studied Conservation Biology and Zoology at the University of Western Australia and then Tropical Biology and Conservation at James Cook University in Townsville and Cairns. Along the way I picked up wildlife photography as a hobby and began to focus my attention on herpetofauna and birds.

Working for Phoenix is a great opportunity to explore Western Australia’s biodiversity and further develop my skills in fauna surveying, taxonomy and reporting with the support of experienced mentors.
